Record Keeping

So yes, school started and I am loving every second of it! The first week I only had the kindergarten students and the second week the 3's and 4's were phased in on separate days. This past Wednesday all of my students were at school... all 21 of them! I was not sure how to go about keeping record of all the lessons I give. Before Friday, I had a calender that I recorded which lessons I gave on each day. I realized very quickly that this is not very effective and I had to start recording all the lessons in a better way asap! During training, my trainer provided us with a record keeping form. I filled it out with all the children's names along with the lesson I gave to them. I know I must also keep a form in each child's file so that I can keep track of how they did on each lesson, as well as presentations that I need to follow up with and those that need refreshing. Teaching is hard work. Keeping up with twenty one children's progress takes being organized and precise. Below is a picture of what the sheet looks like. I have highlighted all the presentations from week one and two in pink and the lessons I give next week I will highlight in a different color. So far it's working great!

Also, I found this amazing book with index cards and I love it! I am so happy that I bought two of them! I am using this one to record songs and cultural stories.
